Is There Room For One More CSS Gallery?

March 4, 2009 · 2 Comments

Do we need any more CSS galleries? I think the answer depends on where you are. In certain parts of the world (namely the West), web standards is alive and well — and galleries played an important role in the fight for web standards. However, other parts of the world aren’t quite so lucky.

In Taiwan, where I grew up, web design and technology appears to have stagnated. There are plenty of websites still using tables for layout, and much of the design looks like they are from the turn of the century, and that’s almost 10 years ago! The battle for web standards is far from over. And this is where I shameless plug my humble little project, a new gallery for Asian websites: Eastern Style. My hope is that it will help inspire designers in the region to build better and more beautiful websites. If you know of any good sites, please let me know!

  1. Nice idea Dave! I like the site and the concept (even though I can’t read the sites it is promoting). :-)

  2. Thanks! Now the hard part is to find some good sites :)
